SpectroCam Spectrophotometers
Whether you are a graphic designer, pre-press specialist
or printing press operator the Spectrocam has been designed to meet
your need for fast and accurate color control. The Spectrocam combines
the accuracy of a high end spectrophotometer with the speed of a
spectral scanner in one instrument. With the Spectrocam you can
calibrate your printer, monitor or printing press quickly and accurately,
saving you precious time. The Spectrocam is delivered with all the
necessary accessories for scanning and calibrating: an ISO black
scan plate, scan ruler, monitor calibration unit*, white reference
target and color measurement software.
The Spectrocam - The Break Through in Color Control
The Spectrocam is the new star in accurate and fast color control.
Measuring the complete color spectrum at 35 images per second, the
Spectrocam functions like a true Spectrocamera combining accuracy
and speed in an unprecedented way. The Spectrocam is the ideal tool
for your color management and control applications.
The Spectrocam features:
Accuracy
Spectrographic measurement of colors:
The Spectrocam is a true spectrophotometer, measuring the complete
visible spectral range of 380nm to 750nm. These spectral data give
you the most accurate and detailed definition of color. In comparison
to densitometers, spectrophotometers are more accurate, are less
susceptible to media differences and measurements taken with different
units are more consistent between each other. Besides, the Spectrocam
delivers you all the densities and colorimetric values you need
based on true spectral data.
Xenon illumination:
Xenon day light flash was only available in very expensive spectrophotometers
- until now. It enables the measurement of fluorescence as it is
observed in real daylight. And the effect of fluorescent whitening
agents, so widely used in paper nowadays, is detected more accurately
than with spectrophotometers using incandescent lamps or LEDs for
illumination.
Annular 45°/0° measuring geometry:
The Spectrocam is ISO standard compatible with its 45°/0°
measuring geometry. The surface is circular illuminated under 45°and
the reflection is measured under 0°. In this way colors are
more accurately measured regardless of the gloss and orientation
of the surface texture, an issue when using spectrophotometers with
a different measuring geometry.
75 bands:
The Spectrocam is a 75 bands spectrophotometer measuring the color
spectrum from 380 nm to 750 nm in steps of 5 nm. This allows for
an even more accurate measurement than measurements taken with the
typical 36 bands or less.
Measurement averaging:
The Spectrocam takes 35 measurements per second, which makes it
possible to average of 4 to 16 readings into one precise measurement
value unlike any other spectrophotometer on the market.
Speed
Fast measurements
The Spectrocam is the fastest handheld spectrophotometer on the
market with 35 measurements per second, even faster than other well
known motor driven scanning spectrometers. You can scan over 100
patches per minute, which makes the Spectrocam the ideal tool for
color management, where often color charts of 400 patches and more
need to be measured for generating profiles.
The measurement speed also enables higher accuracy by taking multiple
readings per patch which are averaged into one precise measurement
value. It is this combination of speed, accuracy and multifunctionality
that sets the Spectrocam apart from any other spectrophotometer
on the market today.
Multifunctionality
The Spectrocam combines the functions of four instruments in one.
There is no need to buy separate expensive color measurement instruments
for each task anymore. Just use the Spectrocam which gives you the
superior accuracy of a spectrophotometer:
1. Scanning Spectrophotometer
The Spectrocam is the fastest miniature spectrophotometer on the
market today, even faster than well-known motor driven scanning
spectrophotometers but only at a fraction of the cost. A bar of
18 color patches can be scanned in less than 10 seconds. No need
to cut up your test sheet or to position it precisely on a scan
bed. Just position the scan ruler and move the Spectrocam through
the slot.
2. Spectro Colorimeter and Densitometer
The Spectrocam provides the functions of a colorimeter and densitometer
using true spectral data. The Spectrocam features a Xenon daylight
flash that was only available in very expensive spectrometers -
until now. Xenon enables you to measure fluorescence exactly as
it is observed in real daylight. The Spectrocam gives you the densities
and colorimetric values you need: CIE XYZ, xyY, Luv, Lab, LCH, HSB,
RGB, print densities: Status A, T, E, I, DIN 16536-2.
3. Monitor Calibrator*
Whatever monitor you use, get the best and most color true picture
on your screen by calibrating your monitor regularly with the Spectrocam.
And needless to say, it is fast again. Start the calibration program
and hold the Spectrocam in place on your LCD or CRT screen for a
total measuring time of 30 seconds: less than the time needed to
clean the suction cup stains off your screen after using a conventional
calibration probe.
4. Spectral Camera* determine the color temperature
The Spectrocam also functions as a spectral camera, measuring the
color temperature of light emitted from a light source or reflected
from an object. With the Spectrocam you can determine the light
conditions for checking your print materials or slides.
